Born in Oxford and raised in Winchester, Ryan O'Reilly's music combines English, Canadian and Irish influences with an instantly moving storytelling style. After initially playing as a street musician in London, studying poetry in Dublin and earning his first spurs at open mic nights in Toronto, O'Reilly developed a musical career that is strongly characterized by collaboration, craftsmanship and his passion for songwriting. It was in Toronto in 2004 that he first met Tyler Kyte, an encounter that later developed into an important creative partnership. With its alternative-folk heart, indie-Americana textures and a mood that is both reflective and restless, his new album Elizabeth feels like a time capsule and a new beginning at the same time: full of joy, nostalgia and a palpable liveliness.
