Rebekka Salomea dances out of line. At the same time, her band proves to be a musical chameleon: the project works just as well at top-class jazz events as it does at hip-hop sessions, in the concert hall as well as in dark clubs and at electro festivals.
Double concert with DJ Allynx.
His idiosyncratic mix of R'n'B, trap, jazz and electronic music creates a lively dialog that has been inspiring audiences and critics alike ever since.
On her Instagram channel, Rebekka Salomea shares insights into her creative process, such as spontaneous recordings on the piano or with a flute in her hand. Her musical career began with the woodwind instrument. She later studied jazz and pop singing in Cologne, where she found outstanding collaborators for her project, who have since made her compositions shine in all colors.
For her latest album "Good Life", Salomea reached deep into her bag of tricks. She plays with samples and autotune effects - and even uses the flute. The singer's ethereal voice floats above the beats. In the intro, she uses recordings of her grandfather and shares intimate memories of her childhood in the nineties. Songs like the title track or "Cat Lady" provide the perfect soundtrack for endless summer days. Live, Salomea brings the sun back to Leipzig. You can even dance at one point or another.
