Sleep. Portrait and Souvenirs presents photographs, collages, drawings, paintings and sculptural works by Cologne-based artist Sebastian Fritzsch (*1977). It explores questions of protection, safety and refuge. The theme of sleep is directly affected by this: How can I fall asleep in a place where I don't feel safe? What does it take to make a place safe? What keeps the supposed monsters under the bed away - and how do they not find their way into our thoughts in the first place?
