Schoettle-Areal - Der Schlüsselmoment für Stuttgart

Marienplatz becomes a laboratory for urban development - initiative invites you to discuss the future of the Schoettle site

On Saturday, November 15, Stuttgart's Marienplatz will be transformed into an open experimental space for urban development. Under the motto "Schoettle-Areal: The key moment for Stuttgart", civil society will show how the former State Statistical Office in the south of Stuttgart could be used today before it stands empty for another few years.

The event will start at 2 pm with a short procession to the Schoettle-Areal, where a symbolic intervention and a large key action will take place. Back on Marienplatz, a temporary foretaste of the future will be created: culture, encounters, music, exhibitions and contributions from initiatives that want to work in the Schoettle-Areal in the future.

The highlight of the day is a panel discussion (5-7pm) with representatives from politics, administration and civil society. The focus will be on the question:
How can we enable rapid pioneer use - and secure affordable housing in the long term?

The event will end at 7 pm with music, drinks and open discussions.

The organizers invite all interested parties to participate, join in the discussion and make it clear that Stuttgart needs spaces - and people to bring them to life.
