A sensual journey into the regenerative cocoa from Ecuador

Immerse yourself in an intimate tasting experience where chocolate connects you to its origins.

This Earth Day, Mercado Amigo and Sonriza invite you to discover cacao in its most authentic form - grown in harmony with nature, processed with care and rooted in centuries-old traditions.

Ecuador, considered one of the origins of cocoa, is home to some of the most complex and aromatic varieties in the world. This experience brings you closer to this origin.

Far more than a classic tasting, this is a guided journey through the flavors, stories and landscapes behind each chocolate.

You'll taste 5 carefully selected bean-to-bar chocolates, each showcasing a different expression of cacao - from biodiverse forests to smallholder producers preserving ancestral knowledge.

During the tasting, you will learn how cocoa is grown, fermented and processed - and why truly sustainable chocolate is not just about taste, but also about people, ecosystems and respect for nature.

✨ Your hostess
Sofía Veloz, founder of Sonriza, was born in Ecuador and works directly with cocoa farmers and artisan chocolatiers.

Her work goes beyond sourcing - it is based on relationships, trust and a deep respect for the people behind each chocolate.

In this experience, she shares not only the flavors of cacao, but also the stories, landscapes and traditions that shape it - giving you a rare behind-the-scenes perspective into the world of fine chocolate.
