The slam with a risk of confusion!
Born three years ago as a funny idea at Backstage, it's finally taking place: We're making it Christmassy, we're making it cozy, at the first edition of Cologne's Schrottwicheltslam!
Schrottwichtelslam is exactly what it sounds like: not a classic poetry slam. Four poets introduce themselves to the audience with their own text, after which the texts for the second round are chosen. Who wrote the text for the second round? Only the performers themselves know.
Be there and decide whose performance deserves a place in the final and who can take the title of "Scrap Goblin of the Year"!
What is a poetry slam? A poetry slam is a poetry competition in which artists compete against each other with texts. The rules are very simple: in addition to the requirement that the texts must be written by the performers themselves (which we will break in good conscience from the second round onwards), neither props nor costumes may be used. Singing is only allowed to a limited extent or very badly.
Apart from that, anything that the artists can bring to the stage in six minutes is allowed. Whether poetry, prose or somewhere in between.
Käte will guide you through the evening. The line-up is yet to be announced.
Special: Audience Secret Santa
The audience can also give presents! Simply bring a small Secret Santa gift and let us know at the entrance. Weighing will then take place during the show. Every person who brings something will automatically take part in the Secret Santa.
