Workshop: When anger and fear are at the helm - How emotions can influence politics

Emotions not only determine our everyday lives, but also play a central role in politics. Joy, anger, fear or sadness directly or indirectly influence our decisions. The messages of some political actors are primarily intended to arouse negative emotions in order to influence our political actions. The workshop offers a playful approach to this topic and ties in with the world of the movie "Alles steht Kopf 2".

The participants in this workshop

- experience through role play how emotions can influence actions and political decisions

- slip into the role of the film characters and steer their "human" through everyday and political decision-making situations

- discuss the importance of emotions in political action and reflect on their own experiences

- recognize how emotions are specifically used to exert political influence

- develop strategies to strengthen themselves against manipulation and emotional instrumentalization.

Three workshop slots are available on both days: 9:00 - 10:30, 11:00 - 12:30, 13:00 -14:30. Each slot is intended for one school class, target group: school classes in grades 4-6.

The offer takes place as part of the Baden-Württemberg School Cinema Week and is part of the From Hogwarts to Wakanda series of the Baden-Württemberg State Center for Political Education and the Merlin Stuttgart Cultural Center.

The workshop complements the visit to the movie "Alles steht Kopf 2" from grade 4.
