Sehsüchte - International Student Film Festival

With the 55th edition of Sehsüchte from April 22 to 26, 2026, the film festival enters a new round! For five days in April, a unique venue will be created in Potsdam's Schiffbauergasse. We celebrate cultural diversity and young filmmakers. With this year's motto "What's left?", Sehsüchte wants to broaden our view: into the past, present and future. It poses the question of what's left. The pessimism of these questions will be deliberately challenged in artistic-filmic debates, workshops and discussion formats. For a constructiveness beyond resignation.

The festival program includes a wide variety of film genres - from feature films, documentaries and committed films to experimental films and music videos. A great free children's and youth program invites families and schools to visit the festival. In addition, there are various special programs, different exhibition formats, framing workshops, panels, script readings and live pitches. On the festival campus, food trucks, art installations, concerts and the famous Sehsüchte party invite you to enjoy the festival atmosphere. A place for cineastes, film enthusiasts, students and families.
