How do you come to terms with the past? "Self Care Strandbefehl" examines the case of the seaside resort of Prora on the island of Rügen. The National Socialists built a huge recreational facility there, which was used as barracks in the GDR and developed into residential and hotel complexes by private investors in reunified Germany. The audience is drawn into the maelstrom of memories and becomes a direct part of the debate about how and why the past should be remembered.
