Slowklahoma at the King Georg Jazz Klub - November 28, 2025

On November 28, 2025, the band project Slowklahoma will perform at the King Georg Jazz Klub in Cologne. Behind Slowklahoma is the musician and author Victor Gelling, who creates an imaginary place in his music where myths of the American West collide with the realities of Central Europe.

The sound moves between jangle pop, alternative country and electronic influences. Americana twang meets synthesizer pads, carried by lyrics that tell of mental states, historical marginal figures, conspiracy theories and everyday absurdities. Sometimes poetic, sometimes laconic, Slowklahoma paints a picture of a world in which GDR heroes, fathers waiting in cafés and wild boars have just as much place as memories of the first German in space.

The music is an invitation to an intermediate world - far away from beaches and endless highways, located between the Baltic Sea, the Spreewald and inner landscapes. Anyone who has always wanted to wear cowboy hats without irony will find the right soundtrack here.
