The Chancellors of the Weimar Republic - Five biographies in pictures

The year 2026 marks several important anniversaries of the Weimar chancellors: the 150th birthdays of Hermann Müller and Wilhelm Cuno, the 100th anniversary of Constantin Fehrenbach's death, the 70th anniversary ofJoseph Wirth 's death and the 100th anniversary of Hans Luther's chancellorship.

To mark these occasions, part of the traveling exhibition "The Imperial Chancellors of the Weimar Republic: Biographies in Pictures" will be presented in the Friedrich Ebert House from May 1 to June 7.

The terms of office of the Weimar Chancellors were often short, and many of them are now - unjustly - largely forgotten. The exhibition presents the lives of the above-mentioned chancellors from birth to death. It not only provides insights into political processes, but also into the everyday history of the time. Numerous photographs owned by the children and descendants of the Reich Chancellors are on display.

The traveling exhibition was exhibited for the first time in the Paul Löbe House of the German Bundestag in Berlin.
