The Song Slam Leipzig is the monthly meeting place for all singer/songwriters who want to present their latest songs. The audience consists of interested people who also form the jury for the evening. As with every slam, the applause decides which singer goes through to the next round and takes home a lukewarm bottle of MB sparkling wine at the end of the evening. And of course the crown of the song slam for the respective month, including a starting place in the annual final in summer 2026. The evening will be hosted by Julius Fischer and Tim Thoelke with their usual unbeatable charm.
HERE ARE THE RULES FOR PARTICIPANTS:
You do not have to apply for the Song Slam or send songs of yours, because there is NO restriction on content, in short: EVERYONE can take part.
On the evening of the Song Slam, you will have the opportunity to perform your song to the audience. After everyone has played their song, an applause meter will be used to vote on who has impressed the audience and who has not. Those who receive the most applause are in the semi-finals. Then the whole thing is repeated, the final is played and a winner is chosen. If there are eight or more participants, there is no semi-final and it goes straight to the final. The maximum number of participants per song slam is nine. If this number is reached, we will inform you immediately in the description of the event.
