The Songs & Cakes event has been held regularly by the owners of the former REKORDERS in Dortmund for 10 years. The concept is as simple as it is beautiful: with live acoustic music, coffee, cake and cool drinks, the weekend comes to a gentle end and offers another opportunity to take a deep breath. The REKORDER crew have been regulars at the Depot for some time now and will once again delight audiences with their musical flair: Sorin combines indie folk with elements of alternative and Americana, creating a sound that is at once intimate, expansive and atmospheric. In his songs, he deals with unresolved feelings, inner friction and the longing for harmony. Even before the release of his debut album 2024, he played as support for international acts such as Charlie Cunningham, Khruangbin, Maps & Atlases and Kat Frankie. His album while the tides turn received airplay on FluxFM, Fritz, Radio Eins and Deutschlandfunk Kultur; his music has also been featured in international TV productions. Sorin is currently working on his second EP. The first new singles will be released in April 2026.
