The young pianist, singer and composer Sophia Oster is undoubtedly one of the most promising musical newcomers and has already earned herself a worthy place in the jazz world. With her quintet, she recorded her debut album "Jubilation" in 2021, followed by the EP "All Smiles", on which she can be heard with Brad Mehldau drummer Jorge Rossy and New York saxophonist Bill McHenry, among others.

Oster recently recorded her new album "Praise" with her current quartet, consisting of the multi-award-winning saxophonist Konstantin Herleinsberger, the US bassist Paul Imm, who has toured with jazz greats such as Lee Konitz and Rosemary Clooney, and the young Brazilian drummer Rafael Müller, who has quickly made a name for himself on the jazz scene.
Her special touch on the piano and her warm, sonorous voice make the artist's music shine and, together with her fellow musicians, she creates a level that is imbued with a deep spirituality.
In addition to her own compositions, which are difficult to limit to one genre but show her versatile roots in jazz, classical music and gospel, the musician is also inspired by the music of Brazilian artists such as Antonio Carlos Jobim, Milton Nascimento or Djavan, as well as Wayne Shorter, Joni Mitchell, Gershwin, Ellington and many more.
The young musician's music is diverse, colorful, powerful and gentle at the same time, and gains great authenticity through her loving devotion.
