"Odyssey" Richie Ros' debut album is the result of a life that is less ordinary. Richie Ros' life story is a testament to the human spirit and the cathartic, healing nature of music. Growing up in a state orphanage in the Irish city of Limerick, Richie felt confused as to why his life turned out the way it did.

It was on Richie's 11th birthday that he was finally given his long-awaited guitar by a teacher who taught him his very first song on the guitar: "Johnny Be Goode". To cope with such emotional turmoil, Richie began writing and performing his own songs and developed his own inner world where his feelings were expressed through music.

Despite the trauma of his early years, Richie refuses to let his past define him. Richie had no control over the events in his life, but the one thing he did have control over was his attitude.

Fate found him: David Odlum, Grammy award-winning producer of The Frames, who, after liking the demo, agreed to produce Richie's debut album "Odyssey" at Black Box Studio in France. The album is aptly titled "Odyssey" - the journey of a young boy who worked against all odds to create his own fairytale. The music in his soul had, as he himself put it, "finally set him free". "Odyssey" was released in May 2019 and Richie Ros has been touring extensively ever since, sharing his songs and stories with the world.

Richie Ros has a wide range of great songs under his belt. His warm, soft voice takes listeners on a journey through the stories that make up his life. As a story-telling musician, he is right up there with such great Irish musicians as Glen Hansard and Van Morrison. Unsurprisingly, his 2019 debut album is entitled "Odyssey" and was produced by Grammy winner David Odlum.
Since then, Richie Ros has toured extensively in Europe with this album, not only in Germany, but also in Denmark, Sweden, Poland, Benelux and Switzerland. His musical influences range from James Taylor and Don McLean to traditional Irish bands such as the Dubliners. And every now and then a classic sneaks into his program, such as his version of the Elton John hit "Your Song", accompanied by delicate fingerpicking. A voice that invites you to dream and a musician worth discovering.

Free admission, this is a hat concert. Just come along and enjoy good music and good conversation with acquaintances, friends and strangers alike!
For each concert, the La Copa team creates a special "cocktail of the evening", which might even make it onto the menu with your help!
Enjoy a few hours of music in a relaxed atmosphere with musicians and bands from a wide variety of genres. And if you like it - musicians love spotlights - then you are welcome to leave something in the hat for the musicians and bands...
