soundings #051: Echo Ho | Pulgar&Vitols

To mark the 35th anniversary of the KHM, the soundings series presents performances and concerts by renowned KHM graduates in the winter semester 25/26. The second concert will feature an audiovisual performance by media and sound artist Echo Ho and Axel Pulgar & Rihards Vitols.
Echo Ho's "Threads of Decay, Spikes of Reverie" is a transmedia performance that interweaves sound, image and gesture with the remains of a San Pedro cactus that has been transformed into a monochord instrument altar. Through live improvisation, diffusion models and cyclical rituals of growth and decay, the work connects plant, body and algorithm in an intimate dialog about transformation and reciprocity.

In real time, Axel Pulgar and Rihards Vitols explore the mutable relationship between sound and image through communication, collision and transformation. Between tension, contrast and brief harmonies, a rusted steel server becomes a third voice. The result is a performance that defies all control and assumes chance as the driving force.
