SPIDERGAWD

In the organizer's words:

Spidergawd are classic heavy rock with a gigantic understanding of melody that sometimes takes on pop traits. Twin guitars celebrate this understanding of melody excessively, dueling and cheering it on and everything stands on a solid classic NWOBHM foundation.

For their eighth album in eleven years of band history, Spidergawd have chosen a surprising title: "From Eight To Infinity". This marks the end of the band's use of Roman titles, which they had used for their previous seven albums. Otherwise, much seems familiar, though they remain recognizable with their unmistakable Spidergawd sound, double guitars, triple vocals and baritone saxophone in their usual elaborate album artwork. Of course, the most important references such as Thin Lizzy and Motörhead remain obvious.

But while "VII" (2023) leaned a little on 80s bands like Rush, Adrian Smith and Boston, "From Eight To Infinity" is more in its references with AC/DC and Cheap Trick on one side and Metallica and Black Sabbath on the other. There still seems to be no sign of Spidergawd shifting down a gear and the band promises a bright future, and not just in the title. All this seems promising for the upcoming tour. But you could already clearly feel this at the support shows for Judas Priest; a band's dream come true.
