Spilif • "Elouise" Tour 2025 • Live in Leipzig

Rapper Spilif (*1989 in Innsbruck) discovered her love of the spoken and written word in German lessons. The Austrian has been writing her philosophical, conciliatory, self-critical, socially critical and love-transporting lyrics for over 10 years now. Since 2018, she has been presenting them as a rapper on various festival and club stages and never as a poetry slammer - because her passion for music is simply too great. Together with DJ and beat producer RudiMontaire, she has played over 100 shows and opened concert evenings for Jeruthe Damaja, Lord Finesse, Goldroger, MC Rene, Johnny Rakete and many more. The two got to know each other at a jam session in Innsbruck and less than five days later they wrote their first song together, "Let's fall in love", which symbolizes their shared love for hip-hop.

Their first joint EP "Das Leben tarnt sich nur als Schnitzeljagd" (2020 via HHV) was followed by "Geschichtsbücher" (2020 via unserallereins), a single collaboration between Spilif and singer-songwriter Jo Stöckholzer - with whom she had already performed songs by Peter Alexander live for a fun event years before and who is now her manager. In 2020, the Tyrolean released two more quarantine self-releases with her Heidelberg beat buddy Rudi Montaire - "Kunstquarantäne" and "Dann eben noch einmal". In response to the Innsbrucker Bäckerei - Kulturbackstube's call to the art scene to make something about the lockdowns of the cultural nation, the collaboration "Scheinwerferlicht" with Beatmund Noise was born.

With the second EP release "lost tracks" (2021 via unserallereins) by the German rapper with Rudi Montaire, you get what it says on the tin - 5 almost lost songs. A collection of demos that the two had recorded in 2019 but had to put work on them on hold due to global circumstances. The title not only refers to the fact that these songs would have been lost without a release, but also to Spilif (Innsbruck) & Rudi Montaire (Heidelberg) themselves. Due to travel restrictions, the two were unable to see each other for a long time, losing personal contact and opportunities to perform, as it was no longer possible to tread the boards that mean the world. However, the positive aspect of finding what they thought was lost was not lost either on the EP or in real life. Producer Rudi Montaire now also lives in Innsbruck and is the bassist in their live band.

In 2022, Spilif immortalized one of her lyrics to a beat by friend and fellow musician Claptu. The result was the single "Nazaré" (2022 via unserallereins), which was the artist's first to be included in the rotation of Austria's biggest alternative radio station, ORF radio FM4.

The word acrobat continued to rummage through old drawers with Rudi Montaire, which led to further material for a "lost tracks II" EP, which was released digitally (2022 via unserallereins) and on vinyl postcards (sold out). The EP's first pre-release singles "im Vorbeigeh'n" and "Mikrofoncheck" were included in the radio FM4 rotation, as was the previous single. As a further artistic step, the conscious rapper fulfilled a long-awaited wish: an album with a band.

The debut album "irgendetwas das du liebst" (October 2023 via unserallereins) was a huge success. In addition to numerous airplays/interviews/rotations on radio stations, as well as euphoric words from the press (click here!), Spilif was nominated for several awards, including Austria's biggest music prize, the AAMA Austrian Amadeus Music Award, the German Record Critics' Award, ...
