In his collection of poems "Le Spleen de Paris", the French poet Charles Baudelaire describes the dark side of modernity, the failure of people and utopias, the longing for life, eroticism and death in a radically subjective way. The puppet theater Wilde & Vogel transposes Baudelaire's work into a sensually subversive, highly musical web. An associative round dance of individual images, songs and scenic miniatures unfolds, inhabited and dominated by figures of "stunning expressiveness" (LV) - tender, vulnerable, voluptuous, deadly tired and life-hungry protagonists of a dark and beautiful world in decline. "A weightless elaboration (...) masterfully light playing, underlined by fine sound nuances with electronically amplified guitar and violin..." (EZ)
