Stadtgarten for Future – Klimawandel trifft historischen Park!

In the organizer's words:

Drought, hurricanes and heavy rainfall have torn out over 30 trees in recent years, some of them very old and magnificent. - Discuss with experts such as Melanie Ihlenfeld, Head of the City of Cologne's Parks Department, Dr. Josef Tumbrinck from the NRW Ministry for the Environment, Transport and Nature Conservation, Dr. Joachim Bauer, the initiator of the Cologne Forest Laboratories, Christoph Michels from the German Dendrological Society and Tobias Lauterbach from the LVR Office for the Preservation of Monuments about what planting will make the historic forest park robust and sustainable in times of climate change. And what additional developments, such as compensation areas, are possible and necessary to keep the park attractive for future generations as a place of recreation, learning and longing. This will be followed by a guided tour of the park at 3 pm.
