Stickman Festival • 48h Short Film Challenge

In the organizer's words:

One weekend, one theme, one technical handicap, no long safety nets: this is precisely what makes the Stickman 48h Challenge so appealing. On Friday evening, the teams are given a predetermined word and a cinematic restriction - such as a fixed look, black and white or just one light source. The finished short film must be submitted by Sunday evening. The focus is not on high gloss, but on ingenuity, the courage to make a decision and the desire to create something unique from boundaries.

The screening at the Schwanen brings these very different works to the big screen. Sometimes raw, sometimes precisely set, sometimes quirky, funny or surprisingly still: the films show what happens when time is short and ideas are nevertheless given space. The fact that it is deliberately not the camera, budget or technique that are judged, but the eye, realization and team spirit, also makes the challenge attractive for young filmmakers and the curious.

This makes the evening more than just a showcase. It is a cinema, a meeting place and an insight into an independent film scene that sets itself tasks and develops movement from them.
