From Friday, September 25 to Monday, September 28, various attractions around the Stiepel village church on Brockhauserstrasse and Nettelbeckstrasse will provide the best entertainment. The Stiepel funfair - organized by Bochum Marketing GmbH - has always attracted guests with its special neighbourly flair and the opportunity to meet up with old friends. Various rides and a wide range of food and drink outlets provide a varied offer over the four days. The Fliegenkirmes is said to have been named after the annoyance caused by insects at the former cattle market. What remains of the cattle market today is a small animal exhibition with, among other things, pedigree poultry. The traditional Bochum funfair is officially opened on Saturday with this popular livestock market - organized by the Phönix Stiepel breeders' association - and a beer tapping.
