On November 20, a special kind of fashion show will take place at the Stadtpalais - Museum für Stuttgart from 7 pm: The KulturRegion Stuttgart and the Sportregion Stuttgart are playing a sporty-cultural double pass and providing the answer to the all-important question of when soccer jerseys found their way out of the curve and onto the catwalk.
Whether Heidenheim, Stuttgart or New York: soccer shirts are currently part of streetwear and are combined with all kinds of other fine fabrics in everyday life. How did this come about? Why are retro jerseys so popular? And who started the hype? These and many other questions are answered by two people who know a thing or two about the subject: One is Nina Preuss, Managing Director of the Stuttgart agency Preuss und Preuss and, as the creator of the Better Go South gallery, a proven pop culture expert. On the other, Nils Unterharnscheidt, Managing Director of the Munich-based creative company Societas, which recently helped VfB Stuttgart to create a new brand image and is causing a sensation with special jerseys for various clubs.
Moderated by Ingmar Volkmann, Preuss and Unterharnscheidt will discuss 50 years of VfB Stuttgart's jersey history live and on location, using the VfB jerseys as a starting point to discuss the soccer and cultural asset that is the jersey.
The event is designed as a live podcast in the Stuttgart cultural region's "kunstundquer" series and can be listened to afterwards on all common podcast formats.
