In keeping with the annual motto of the Open Monument Day "Valuable: priceless or irreplaceable?", the SWR radio studio opens its doors to the public. Find out more about the building technology, history and broadcasting use of the radio studio, discover the various rooms from the broadcasting hall to the sound control room and get to know the SWR Symphony Orchestra - with live music, of course.


In the house
Guided tours (duration 60 min) in the radio studio at 11:00, 12:30, 14:30, 16:00 with the following content in three parts:

• Part 1 Monument: lecture on the building technology, history and radio use of the Funkstudio (Christoph Milla-Schindelin, LHS Stuttgart monument protection authority)
• Part 2: Tour of the radio studio
• Part 3: Moderated chamber music with a viola duo from the SWR Symphony Orchestra (Dora Scheili and Janis Lielbardis, viola; Jasmin Bachmann, moderator)

In front of the house

• Live music with a clarinet ensemble of the SWR Symphony Orchestra
• Short walk around the building with information about the radio studio and (radio) orchestra
• Ice cream van for a sweet break

Important information: The inside tour is only available as part of a guided tour, the number of participants is limited! There may be waiting times. During this time, you can enjoy our program outside. Free tickets for the guided tours in the radio studio are issued for all tours from 10:30 a.m. In case of rain, only limited shelter is available.
