A young man leaves his native Argentina and comes to Europe. Here he wants to learn to compose "properly". In Paris, his teacher Nadia Boulanger can't figure him out. Although he brings a whole suitcase full of compositions with him, everything seems somehow artificial. Until the pupil plucks up all his courage and plays her one of his tangos on the piano one day. She is blown away: "That's the real Piazzolla - never leave him." After returning to his homeland, Astor Piazzolla founded an ensemble in 1955 that literally dared to try a new tango and let the "Tango Nuevo" blossom. Piazzolla was the first to liberate the tango and accordion from the dingy image of seedy nightclubs and bring them into concert halls. The Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra unleashes all the magic of the tango in this great hour and, in addition to the music of the famous Argentinean, who first found the courage to develop his own style in Paris, also includes works by two tango masters from France. Whether you are a tango fan or not: this program will sweep you away!
