In cooperation with the Association of Friends of the Italian Cultural Institute Cologne, the Italian Cultural Institute Cologne is presenting an encounter with Annette Kopetzki on November 12 at 7 p.m. entitled Tendencies in Recent Italian Literature and its Translation. The event will be moderated by Anna Vollmer.
On the occasion of the Frankfurt Book Fair 2024, current Italian literature was presented, which has changed in many ways since Italy's first guest appearance in 1988. Annette Kopetzki talks about developments and trends that she has encountered over the course of her thirty years as a translator. Many authors, including Pier Paolo Pasolini, Andrea Camilleri, Erri de Luca and Roberto Saviano, Claudia Durastanti and Ginevra Lamberti, have also inspired her to develop new translation strategies.
Annette Kopetzki was an editor for German language and literature in Italy, received her doctorate with a thesis on literary translation and has been translating prose and poetry from Italian for 30 years.
Anna Vollmer studied Italian, English and history in Heidelberg and Rome. She works as an editor for the Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung.
