After a break of more than seven years, The Black Atlantic - the intimate folk project of Dutch singer-songwriter Geert van der Velde - is back.
What began as a solitary, introspective project has quietly evolved into something bigger, deeper and more urgent. Now, for the first time in years, The Black Atlantic will be touring Germany and the Netherlands as a full band.
The concerts will revisit older material from the debut album "Reverence For Fallen Trees" and the EP "Darkling, I Listen" - songs that have traveled far beyond their origins and have been carried by listeners through various stages of their lives. But this return is not just about looking back. Alongside these familiar moments, there will also be new material: first glimpses of an upcoming album, scheduled for release in 2027. These songs are still in motion - unfinished, emerging in the dark - and only in the light of the stage will they take shape.
This tour marks both a return and a threshold: a chance to reconnect, rethink and listen to the new works
that van der Velde has shaped in the years away from the limelight.
