The Cutter are an electronic trio from Manchester, consisting of Ewan Kinrade (vocals), Charlie Marriott (guitar) and Lucy Green (synths).

The band combines influences from electronica, darkwave and shoegaze to create a haunting sound that moves between atmosphere and energy, machine and emotion. Their music is reminiscent of the 80s greats of the genre without lapsing into nostalgia - rather, The Cutter develop their own modern interpretation of the classic British goth sound.

Characteristic are drum computers, guitar pads and synthesizers, over which Kinrade's distinctive baritone conveys a mixture of distance and vulnerability. The songs are created in a field of tension between melancholic romanticism and urban coldness, infused with a raw intensity reminiscent of Manchester's industrial energy.

With their previous releases - including the singles Pulling Me In and Stereotype - The Cutter show a fine sense of melodic depth and electronic power. They create sound spaces that seem enraptured, hypnotic and immediate.

The Cutter are part of a new British generation that sees darkness not as a pose, but as an expression of truthfulness - a band that carries on the spirit of Manchester and pours it into a contemporary form.
