The Embassy Café International

Every Monday and Wednesday, 3.00-6.00 pm, Thalia Gauẞstraẞe

A place for encounters, advice and participation is starting up again. People who are committed to an open society come together here - regardless of origin, language, faith or status. Twice a week, the foyer is transformed into an international café where people can talk, learn, discuss and laugh over drinks and pastries. Anyone who wants to practise German, clarify legal issues, find a co-working space or simply be part of a community will find support and resonance here.

The Embassy sees itself as a safe space in times of increasing government restrictions and social tensions. In cooperation with Sprachbrücke e. V. and the Refugee Law Clinic, an extended network of solidarity initiatives is being created to offer orientation to refugees, migrants and new arrivals. Volunteers will present their projects and advice services - from language courses to legal support with asylum and family issues. At the same time, Hamburg citizens are also invited to become part of this open space and engage in conversation.
