This comedy film is about Atta Oko, a Ghanaian fisherman who teams up with a talking fish and his young colleagues Shasha, Kobina and Emmanuel to travel to Accra and realize his dream of owning his own boat. THE FISHERMAN is a critique of Accra's urban development, a warning about the loss of fishing culture in Ghana, a reminder of the destruction of our environment and a warning about the erosion of tradition by technology. Full of laughter, magic and the rich culture of Ghana, THE FISHERMAN is a heartwarming story about family, resilience and the enduring spirit of a true fisherman.
