The LOKAL Listener: Gregor Praml trifft … Prince

This Saturday, the ROMANFABRIK invites you to a special evening of the concert talk series The LOKAL Listener - Gregor Praml meets .... The focus is on an artist who has written music history like no other: Prince. Just a few days before the 10th anniversary of his death on April 21, 2026, this evening is dedicated to the life, work and after-effects of this exceptional musician.

Prince was a visionary, a boundary-pusher and a style-defining figure for generations. His music combined funk, pop, rock, soul and jazz - uncompromising, sensual, political and deeply personal. In this edition of The LOKAL Listener, outstanding musicians approach his work in their very own way: live, reinterpreted and reflected upon in conversation.

Frankfurt's most passionate Prince fan Zaki Gammour plays a central role in this evening, bringing Prince's unmistakable spirit to the stage with his band ZakShotLeFunk. Together with Dennis Bergmann (bass), Jasper Hanel (drums) and Kojo David (keys) as well as Zaki himself on guitar, they create a powerful, funk-soaked sound that celebrates Prince rather than copying him.

The soloists are: singers Julia van Embers (known from the band Romie) and Selenia Gulino, rapper Kozak, FÄZZ pianist Jona Heckmann, Tony Clark (sitar, guitar & shakuhachi), Abdurrahman Koese (kanun), Valentin Huber (saxophone) and Jason Schneider (trumpet). They all interpret both great hits and lesser-known gems from Prince's extensive oeuvre and talk to Gregor Praml about their very personal connection to this unique artist.

The LOKAL Listener - Gregor Praml meets ... Prince is more than a tribute concert: it is a lively dialog about music, influence and inspiration - an evening between talk, jam and heartfelt homage to one of the greatest artists in modern music history.
