The Rehats

The Rehats stand for handmade, authentic indie pop/folk from Freiburg, reminiscent of
Mumford & Sons. Appearances at renowned
festivals and appearances on major radio stations show that their songs have hit potential.
The story begins in September 2015, when singer-songwriter Johannes "Jojo" Stang published the first
self-produced music videos on social networks. This quickly turned
into a band project, and the first gigs followed just a few months later. Alongside Jojo
(guitar, vocals), Michael Simon (drums) was one of the first members. Later
Jakob Zschocke (bass, vocals) and lead guitarist Reto Feßler joined. Since then, the
band has regularly toured clubs in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and played at
festivals such as the Chiemsee Summer Festival and the Lörracher Stimmen Festival. The
strong audience response underlines the continuing demand for authentic,
handmade music.
In 2019, with the support of the label and publisher, the band went to Cologne to Wolfgang Stach's (Jupiter Jones, BAP) studio
to record their debut album. The collaboration with the multiple gold and
platinum award-winning producer paid off: The album was featured on several
radio stations as "Album of the Week", and singles found their way into the
programs of various stations, including WDR.
2023 saw the release of the second album "Heart & Mind", for which the Rehats worked with a co-
writer for the first time. With Simon Ward from the Strumbellas - known for the worldwide hit
"Spirits" - a central figure of the international folk and pop scene could be won

The band is currently working on a new EP. Three songs from it have already been released
and played on SWR1, among others. In 2024, the Rehats also supported Jamie
Cullum at the Stuttgart Jazz Open.
