20 years have passed since the British rock trio The Subways first chose their "Rock & Roll Queen". A song that launched the band's glorious career. So it's no wonder that Billy Lunn, Charlotte Cooper and Camille Phillips - the band's current line-up - have decided to celebrate their anniversary in style: not only with the best-of compilation "When I'm With You", which was released in October last year, but also with an extensive European tour that will follow the compilation in October this year.

Incidentally, the 20th birthday in no way marks the end of the band's history; quite the opposite. Singer and bassist Cooper says of the upcoming tour: "We very much hope that this marks the halfway point of our career - we are far from finished". When the band formed in Welwyn Garden City, England, in 2003, they and frontman Billy Lunn were still teenagers. They began writing and releasing songs together and landed their big breakthrough just two years later with their debut album "Young For Eternity" and the hit "Rock & Roll Queen" it contained. The track became an internationally acclaimed indie hit and only multiplied its fame through placements in the gangster film "RocknRolla", among others.

In the years that followed, The Subways continued to work on their signature sound of energetic guitar riffs and the perfectly balanced mix of punk attitude and indie melodies. The four further albums "All or Nothing" (2008), "Money and Celebrity" (2011), "The Subways" (2015) and "Uncertain Joys" (2023) were released a few years apart. The Subways then compiled the best of this impressive discography in their best-of compilation "When I'm With You" last year.

And now it's time to take it on tour! Here, the Brits promise to share a harmonious balance of past and future with their fans, as new tracks have also made their way onto the setlist alongside the greatest hits of the past two decades. The Subways will be playing a total of eight dates in Germany in October.
