🎨 Drawing or rather photography? - Early works

Themed tour through the exhibition "Bernd & Hilla Becher - History of a Method"

📅 Sun. 02.11., 3 pm

With Dr. Maria Müller-Schareck, art historian

Before Bernd and Hilla Becher met and began their collaboration, they each completed different training and academic studies. While Bernd Becher began studying typography in Stuttgart after an apprenticeship as a decorative painter, Hilla Becher completed a photography apprenticeship in Potsdam. Both joined Walter Breker's graphics class at the Düsseldorf Art Academy in 1957/58. In the guided tour, selected works by Bernd and Hilla Becher, created independently of each other, are viewed against the background of their joint work.
