The Welsh singer and performer Tom Jones, who was even knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 2006, will be playing at the LANXESS arena in Cologne on Tuesday, 14.07.2026. Long since awarded the status of a living legend, Tom Jones delights his audiences with his timeless hits, his baritone voice and his captivating charisma. His career now spans six decades and has made him one of the greatest singers of all time with numerous awards - including several BRIT Awards, a Grammy, a Silver Clef Award, the Music Industry Trusts Award and the Hitmaker Award of the US Songwriters Hall of Fame. With over 100 million records sold, 36 top 40 hits in the UK and 19 in the USA, he has long since cemented his place in music history and is one of the most successful artists of all time.

In July 2026, the singer will take to the stage once again. Under the motto COME GATHER ROUND , Tom Jones will be performing live at the Elbjazz Festival in Hamburg, the Lanxess Arena in Cologne and the Festhalle in Frankfurt in mid-July.

In the 1960s, Thomas John Woodward sought success as a singer and made a name for himself in bands and under the stage name Tiger Tom in Welsh and English clubs and pubs. Despite initial difficulties, he landed his first number 1 hit in the British charts as Tom Jones with his single "It's Not Unusual" in 1965 and quickly entered the international charts. With "What's New, Pussycat?" and "Thunderball" , he sang two title tracks for the films of the same name in the same year and also became a celebrated star in Germany. After the successful track "Green, Green Grass of Home" (1967), Tom Jones also took over the top of the German hit parade in 1968 with "Delilah" and "Help Yourself". From 1969 to 1971, he hosted the TV show "This is Tom Jones" and has since worked with artists such as Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, as well as Van Morrison, Dolly Parton and Ed Sheeran. In 2000, he landed another global hit with "Sexbomb", which was created together with German producer Mousse T., and has continued to release new music.

With his late work, Tom Jones received some of the best reviews of his career for the albums "Surrounded By Time" (2021), "Long Lost Suitcase" (2015), "Spirit In The Room" (2012) and "Praise & Blame" (2010) produced by Ethan Johns. In addition to the recordings, Tom Jones' performance, which showcases his unique talent in the studio as well as on stage, continued to receive praise. "Surrounded by Time" even became another number 1 album in the UK in 2021 and also entered the German Top 25.

Last year, Tom Jones celebrated his 85th birthday and was far from thinking about stopping. "As long as my voice is still going strong, I see no reason to stop. At some point, of course, that time will come. Time is my enemy - but I hope it's still a while away," Jones told NDR.
