La Grande Chapelle (Spain)

For 20 years now, the ensemble La Grande Chapelle has dedicated itself to polyphonic works from the Renaissance and Baroque eras, specializing in the musical treasures of Spain. Driven by its director Albert Recasens, it rediscovers forgotten composers and works and often takes care of their first recordings.
The ensemble performs live at many important festivals in Spain and throughout Europe. For its premiere at the Festival a cappella, La Grande Chapelle presents the great Officium defunctorum by Tomás Luis de Victoria, which he wrote for the funeral of Empress Maria of Spain and which is considered one of the masterpieces of the Spanish Renaissance.
The festival concert in St. Peter's Church 2026 will therefore be a highlight of Spanish music-making - look forward to it!
