St. Mary's is not wrongly nicknamed "im Kapitol". After all, the shrine of the CCAA once stood on the small hill near the Rhine. The Romanesque church also has a lot to tell beyond that: about holy women, bizarre superstitions, beer brewers and a robbery that still brings Cologne an immeasurable amount of money today.
