The Canadian cold-wave duo Traitrs are one of the busiest bands in the modern goth scene. With their nightmarish mosaic of icy guitars, melancholic synthesizers, motorik drum machine rhythms and anthemic melodies interwoven with horror-heavy lyrics, Traitrs capture the spirit of older bands like The Cure, Bauhaus and Cocteau Twins while remaining firmly anchored in the present.

In late 2015, Shawn Tucker (vocalist/guitarist) formed Traitrs with songwriter/keyboardist Sean-Patrick Nolan in Toronto, Ontario, as the two shared a love of punk, electronic music and arthouse horror films and spent months honing their edgy cold-wave sound. In April 2016, Traitrs released their debut cassette "Rites and Ritual", which quickly generated underground enthusiasm in Germany, Peru, Brazil, Mexico and France. This momentum carried the duo into 2018, when Traitrs released their critically acclaimed second album "Butcher's Coin". Due to the success of lead single 'Thin Flesh' and live favorites 'The Lovely Wounded' and 'The Suffering Of Spiders', 'Butcher's Coin' proved to be one of the seminal goth albums of the last decade. This was followed in 2021 by the album "Horses In The Abattoir", which spent weeks at number 1 in the DAC charts in Germany.

The new album "Possessor" will be released on 13.03.2026.

Since 2018, Traitrs have performed in over 25 countries and at international music festivals such as Sanctum, Levitation Fest, Wave Gothik Treffen, Amphi, Castle Party, Extramuralhas, Nocturnal Culture Night, W-Fest, Wavefest, Canadian Music Week and Pop! Montreal. In addition to their own tours, Traitrs have supported VNV Nation, She Past Away, Lebanon Hanover, She Wants Revenge and Chameleons in recent years.
