Trois - der neue Duft von Beach Towel

In the organizer's words:

The Heidelberg band announces a new album, its own fragrance and a release party "Bonjour, Beach Towel's third album is in the air.

After the sweet taste of Peach Melba and the exciting noise of Paris Plages, this time we dedicate ourselves to the scents that touch us: In the nose, in the heart and deep inside. The scent of freedom, the scent of love, the scent of the south, the scent of the big, wide world."

Following the departure of media artist Joko Mono, Beach Towel has been touring as a three-piece for a year now. As a trio, the band has since recorded its third album with the obvious title "Trois" (French for the number three). Like their previous releases "Pfirsich Melba" and "Paris Plages", the collection of ten new songs is an ambitious concept album, a DIY Gesamtkunstwerk and a further development of their almost unique identity as a monothematic band.

Together with the Mannheim-based start-up "Duftlabor", the band also developed a unisex fragrance to match the album, which is available exclusively at the band's concerts. With notes of bergamot, aquatic seawater and a base of cedarwood, a spritz from the elegant bottle brings the clichéd summer feeling to the skin, which Beach Towel also exudes with a great deal of humor on the new album.

For the first time, the band is also releasing music videos for the singles: the song "Magazine" is about daydreaming while reading on the beach, "Reise" deals with the madness of international party tourism, "Die Speedo von Jean Reno" is the first Beach Towel song to take place entirely underwater and in "Lederjacke" the traumas of puberty are dragged into the sunlight and psychoanalytically eviscerated over an orchestral lament bass.

With the release concert on April 25 at Carousel, Beach Towel return to the new cultural hotspot in the old car dealership, where the album was recorded in loving detail on historical synthesizers and turquoise electric guitars. The Heidelberg band "Die Unsichtbaren Städte" will make their debut in the supporting program, Marla Moya will contribute a short intermezzo as a special guest.
