On January 22, 2026 at 19:00, a very special true crime evening will take place at the Cologne Higher Regional Court on Reichensberger Platz: Renowned court reporter Hariett Drack, who has covered spectacular and moving Cologne crime cases for the Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger newspaper for over 40 years and is still an author for ZEIT Verbrechen today, will be opening an exclusive insight into one of the chapters of her new book "Mörder unter uns".

In this free talk, a real case from Cologne will be examined in detail - from the investigation to the trial and the human depths that are revealed in the course of the trial.

Hariett Drack will be supported by Prof. Dr. Jan Orth (judge), who will provide legal expertise and an additional perspective on the background, decisions and dynamics of criminal proceedings. Together, they provide a deep dive into the world of criminal justice that is both exciting and thought-provoking.

The audience can look forward to a captivating, authentic and at the same time reflective evening that shows how close these stories are to our reality.
