Dila Yavuz

Dila Yavuz is a Turkish singer who recently moved to Cologne. She is a jazz singer, earning her Master's at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln. Her professional career started as a jazz musician. And now she is finding her own colors and blending them with Turkish lyrics. Even when you don't understand the words, you can understand the feeling; that's what we share. She is growing her songs, especially in storytelling. Her goal is to find her roots in music, get deep into the culture, and share her stories with people.

Zainab Lax:

Zainab Lax was born and raised in Germany. She has a western classical background, but later also focused on eastern instruments such as the Indian sarod and the Iranian tar. She has roots in Germany, Turkey, Afghanistan and Turkmenistan and music has always helped her in her search for identity. She wants to share this experience with as many people as possible and has therefore decided to become a music therapist and work with people who have experienced uprooting.

In 2017, she graduated as a music therapist from the ArtEZ Conservatory in the Netherlands. During her studies she gained more knowledge about music therapy methods for people with PTSD. During her master's degree at the center for world music, she focused on the topic of empowerment. Since 2018, she has been traveling as a freelance artist and community music therapist in her music van, offering music activities for people with refugee experience.
