In Turbulence, visitors are immersed in a metaphysical plane. Into a dimension that transcends our anthropocentric perspective and is embodied by a performative multi-channel video and extended reality (XR) installation. Using XR technologies, computer-generated animations and voices, we lure visitors into this otherworldly space.

Today, the machines have not only learned to speak. They have adapted to our bodies and slipped under our skin. Driven by necessities, urges and desires, and not least by commercial and political interests, they are changing our bodies, our minds and our circumstances. But the computing power of digital technologies has also significantly accelerated our scientific understanding of the world. Turbulence is a meditation on this tension, reflecting a surprisingly productive yet uncanny exchange between science and entertainment in the late 20th and early 21st centuries. We use VR to bring visitors into contact with non-Western and non-anthropocentric worldviews.
