Turbulences
Hans Tammen - just another worker in rhythms, frequencies and intensities - is visiting us from his adopted home of New York City to wow us with the unusual sounds he elicits from a small wooden synthesizer box dominated by chicken-head knobs, the Blippoo Box.
He will be supported by long-standing playing partners: the Wiesbaden improviser and bassist Ulrich Phillipp, who has been shaping the local scene for decades with his distinctive playing and curatorial work, the Cologne saxophonist and "sculptor of compressed air" Georg Wissel, known for his diverse extended playing techniques, and Matthias Kaiser, an experimental violinist and improviser from Cologne, who is known for his extended playing techniques with loops and acoustic preparations and as a driving force behind various intercultural music projects.
Together they create music - spontaneous and direct, differentiated and colorful!
Release concert of their recently released album on the Shanghai label Where Is The Zeitgeist.
Line-up:
Matthias Kaiser - violin
Georg Wissel - alto saxophone, clarinet
Hans Tammen - blipo box
Ulrich Phillipp - double bass
