URSULA 11.000 is an interdisciplinary performance that transforms the legend of St. Ursula - patron saint of Cologne - into a queer, contemporary ritual.
A surrealist myth with Glauconar Yue - Felipe González - Konrad Bohley - Cecilia Candia - Jasmin Löffler - Angelica Summer
Ursula's contradictory and tragic story still shapes Cologne today - and continues to have a symbolic and inspirational effect worldwide. Based on this tradition, URSULA 11,000 unfolds a surrealist reinterpretation that combines the legend of the princess with a critical history of women and their resistance to power structures.
A site-specific experience in Bunker K101
The performance is conceived as a site-specific project: a scenic tour through the rooms and corners of bunker K101, which serve as containers and resonating spaces for this mythical story.
The audience is invited to move between the rooms and discover the narrative step by step - as part of an immersive, multi-sensory experience with live music, video, dance and theater.
The bunker will be transformed into the legendary ship of the 11,000 virgins, and all visitors are invited to sail together on this queer-feminist odyssey - on the ship of St. Ursula.
Following "Voyage of the Lieutenant Nun", URSULA 11,000 is the second project by the Congrio Clash Company, which sees it as its task to transcend boundaries, question the wholeness and continuity of culture and highlight upheavals and encounters.
