Vea Kaiser: »Fabula Rasa oder Die Königin des Grand Hotels«

"Do you know what a Luftwatsche is?" our protagonist Angelika Moser asks the (fictional) author of this story. Moser, who grew up in a Viennese council estate, danced the night away and worked as an accountant at the Grand Hotel Frohner during the day, playing daring numbers games to keep the pomp palace running. But when her son was born and she was left to fend for herself as a mother, she began to use life between the crystal chandeliers and velvet curtains for her own purposes. Over the years, she stole a fortune from the hotel. Her motive in court? She simply wanted the best for her child. In her new novel Fabula Rasa or TheQueen of the Grand Hotel, the (real-life) author Vea Kaiser(Rückwärtswalzer, Blasmusikpop) tells the story of an impostor, of (un)truths and the search for the good life.
