In the exhibition "About Water", Franz Baumgartner shows a series of paintings that deal with the depiction of water.

Whether it is the sea, with its surging, constantly renewing return of the eternally same, or the Rhine as it flows down to Leverkusen in the winter haze; there is always the desire to capture the intangible in painting. Water pictures are longing paradoxes, wanting to fix what flows away.

And then there are the clouds, water in the form of gas, which occasionally piles up to form black walls, only to pour out shortly afterwards, gather anew and then dissolve again.
