When Yerim Yang convinced the other members of the Verve Quartet to take part in the HfMT Cologne chamber music competition with her, she had a clear goal in mind: first place. It didn't bother her that not everyone shared her confidence - and she was right. The Verve Quartet won the competition in the early summer of 2025 and has been playing together with the same positive attitude and determination ever since. At "Musik in den Häusern der Stadt", the four musicians will perform together for the first time and take the audience on a musical tour between Haydn and Dvořák in Studio 5 of the Tanzfaktur.

Jiwoo Han was born in South Korea and completed her bachelor's degree at Yonsei University. She is currently studying for a Master's degree at the Cologne University of Music and Dance. In 2025, she was selected as a soloist of the Carl Flesch Academy and performed with the Baden-Baden Philharmonic Orchestra. As a dedicated chamber musician, she has already performed internationally and won various prizes.

Yerim Yang also began her studies in South Korea and is now continuing her studies at the Cologne University of Music and Dance. During her studies, she was selected as a soloist, performed with the university orchestra in the Stadthalle Wuppertal and played live on Deutschlandfunk. She also took part in the Académie des Orchestre de Paris and performed in Paris with renowned international artists.

The Korean violist Doi Kim completed her bachelor's degree at the Korea National University of Arts. She has performed as a soloist, guest principal and chamber musician with various orchestras in Korea and Europe. She is currently studying for a Master's degree at the Cologne University of Music and Dance.

Caspar Westerman studied in the Bachelor's program at the University of Music in The Hague. He has been a student at the Cologne University of Music and Dance since 2024. He was also principal cellist of the National Youth Orchestra of the Netherlands and played in the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival Orchestra.
