What does a room sound like when four acts fill it with energy, a pinch of experimentation and a whole lot of heart?

VIERACT is a new concert series at Kunsthafen that gives local bands a stage and makes the diversity of the musical landscape audible and tangible.

Four acts play in a square - close together, close to the audience.
New songs meet old favorites, quiet moments meet powerful sounds, individual signatures meet common resonance.

Nadia Sheya
Nadia Sheya is a German-Iranian singer-songwriter from Cologne. Having grown up between two worlds, her music combines atmospheric guitar sounds with indie folk influences and Persian lyrics to create unique soundscapes. In her songs, she deals with themes such as identity, origin and self-realization.

Always in search of what life is really about, with the intention of making the incomprehensible recognizable. With an insatiable hunger for artistic development and a new musical language, the bottomline move on the threshold of many musical traditions and know how to skillfully combine them into something familiar and yet unknown at the same time.
From jazz to classical music, from electronic spheres to cinematic film music, Franzis Lating (vocals, piano, synthesizer) and Johannes Elia Nuß (drums, synthesizer) are not afraid to venture into unexplored realms.

\\ Yesterday/Gold // First sing along then think about it
Theo vom Gold and Robin vom Gestern deliver intertwined pop intervention & rap reception, with topics ranging from drizzly fall days, love lust and life suffering to refrigerators in the Arctic.
The two form the mother ship, sometimes joined by other musical engines. They attended the Helge Schneider School of Fine Arts, where Dende learned to rap and Rio learned to travel. When they forget their lyrics, they simply invent new ones on the fly. Acoustically or with Boomklack from the drum computer.
The press photo is a few years old, so they stay forever young.

TULIPS
from Cologne - somewhere in the gap between dark wave and pop-punk. A little melancholic, but melodic and often danceable. The synth sounds together with the straightforward bass and drums make it easy to dream yourself back to the 80s. Add to that beautifully melancholic vocals and guitar melodies like these - and you're done!
