Volha Hapeyeva is one of the most internationally sought-after poets of our time. Her texts have been translated into 15 languages. As an artist, she develops audiovisual performances and also researches linguistics. Now she presents a poetic, personal and political "dictionary" about her nomadic years between Belarus, Germany, Crete and Japan: A poetic reflection on language, identity and belonging.

Volha Hapeyeva poses questions about home and foreignness, about gender and patriarchy, about the possibility of being human beyond attributions.

Volha Hapeyeva is a poet, author, translator, artist and holds a doctorate in linguistics. She has received many prizes and awards for her work, including the Wortmeldungen-Literaturpreis 2022) and the Manuskripte-Preis 2025.

Henrik Szántó is an author, spoken word artist and presenter based in Hanover.
