Vortrag: Das Ende von Windows 10 - was nun?

Support for Windows 10, the operating system that many of us certainly use, ends on October 14, 2025. The new version cannot be installed on many older computers (do the check here). Microsoft is therefore encouraging us to (have to) buy a new computer. We in Team Raupe also have to deal with this with our work computers.

But what if you could make your current computer fast and secure again? After all, why buy a new computer if the old one is still technically sound? From a sustainability perspective, it just doesn't make sense.

What alternatives are there? Find out more in the lecture with the Stuttgart Linuxcafé and get to know Linux, a completely free system that is available as open source. The Linuxcafé team will give live demonstrations on site and offer support with installations. Linux requires fewer system resources than Windows 11, which is particularly advantageous for older computers. You also retain complete control over your system, without expensive licenses or forced updates.
